Toilet Duck

Posted by RubberTrucky Oct. 7, 2009 @ 5:53 PM EDT

Clean and messy, you have many ways.
I've been loving you for so many days.
But you're not always being nice to me,
cause there are many things that you never see.
It still feels nice to have you here.
We could have our chat, have our walk out there.
But have you not noticed when I am down.
Are you not there when I need you around.

Sometimes I feel like I'm being a toilet duck,
the one you count on whenever you're stuck.
Then you dispose of me, leaving me sore
and I just don't feel like toilet ducking no more.

I know I miss you when you are far.
I hope you miss me, wherever you are.
Mostly you're nice, but sometimes I feel cold,
when you don't listen to what I have told.

Sometimes I feel like I'm being a toilet duck,
the one you count on whenever you're stuck.
Then you dispose of me, leaving me sore
and I just don't feel like toilet ducking no more.

And I never want to lose you.
I will always listen to what you say.
And I do need you.
Why do you push me away?
Why am I toilet ducking so many days.

Sometimes I feel like I'm being a toilet duck,
the one you count on whenever you're stuck.
Then you dispose of me, leaving me sore
and I just don't feel like toilet ducking no more.

Clean and messy, you have so many ways.
I'm a toilet duck just to make you stay.

It's freudian...

A raunchy tour

Posted by RubberTrucky Sep. 19, 2009 @ 2:37 PM EDT

Today I went for a tour through a potential new apartment to live in. Apparently 2 young student girls were the renters at this time. Opened the door was a fairly attractive young maiden who did a nice tour. One of the two bedrooms was made into a study, so that leaves one room for two young women to do all this imaginable interesting stuff to eachother. That room has a raunchy history and was on its way to become the best candidate apartment ever.
It was kind of a letdown that this other mystery fantasy with long coloured locks and a spicy umbilical piercing appeared to be some guy with a really girly name.
At any rate, it was a decent room and we can live there perhaps.

Yay

Posted by RubberTrucky Jun. 9, 2009 @ 11:53 AM EDT

I graduated today.
Not officially, but my final exam was, contréary to my fears a huge success. I really dodged the bullet there. And this was my last exam ever!!!
Now I have a degree in physics and math and I can enjoy researching them in the comming years. Yes, at least one opportunity for doctoral scholarship is already in my hands.
Wish me luck.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Posted by RubberTrucky Apr. 9, 2009 @ 11:39 AM EDT

A break from the story of White Rooms in this post.

Religion, besides the wars and the persecution, also brought a lot of enjoyable things. Amongst them art and beauty. Especially the choral tradition in religion brings out the a few of the most beautiful things. granted, you don't really need religion to make great music. But most of the choral songs find their origins within religion. Gospels and negrospirituals are models of this tradition and really helped the African Americans endure the slavery and oppression they have encountered. Masses in black communities are well known for their energy and joy. I remember a song from the Flemish artist Raymond van't Groenewoud around this theme: 'Liefde voor muziek' (love for the music).

But to present you a thing of pure beauty, I'm going to bring out a peculiar song in the Filipino choral tradition titled 'Imegmoy'. The link is sung by the choir Pati-Pati, which I made part of last year , though this song was brought earlier. But I moved to Caminhando this year and this song is on the schedule.
Listen here.
I'll attempt to give the text and add a translation. All you Filipinos out there, don't kill me for possible mistakes I made...

Imegmoy pitak ay yay
imegmoh adatak lay.
Imegmoh a da danom,
eggew tan wa day edom,
gayom ni higami.

Pantaneman ipitak,
taklay i mangitodak,
danomi an manibog.
Aggew i on dada od,
gayom ni higami.

Ambelat i kayabang,
tep obimi a ateng,
dakel iday manokmi,
tan matagay killomi,
gayom ni higami.

Lord, the world is crafted by your hands,
every part is made by You.
Water that rains down over the rocks, the air and the sun
signs of daytime that You renew everything.

The soil that carries the seeds is Yours,
You bring us warmth and rain,
growing crops, buds of blossoms, trees and plants:
signs of season that You renew everything.

We seek new grounds to weed,
even hills and slopes suffice for us.
You are forgiving to the worst sins of mankind:
signs of servitude that You renew everything.

Religion and faith don't require hard evidence, even in our daily lives people can experience God. That's what this song is about.

You may disagree on this issue, but I find it hard to believe that you feel this song is a torture to the ears.

White Rooms (1)

Posted by RubberTrucky Mar. 16, 2009 @ 8:36 PM EDT

'White rooms' is an attempt to write a horror story over time. It's loosely based on the genre of Hellraiser and Cube. Because I'm lazy, parts are going to be written sporadically and probably won't be all that long. I know I'm not a talented writer, so it's pretty useless to bash me on it.

1. Awakening

It was already evening. The orangy light of the evening sun in autumn felt slightly warm upon her otherwise senseless skin. A cold wind swept through her hair and left it's chill mark upon her bare arms, humming violently in her ear an encouraging melody. How often had she been here? She couldn't tell. But she's always felt comfort as she came here, on a roof a few stories high. The sounds of the world below her felt faint and almost had no impact on her. Comfort her for what?
She tried to look around her, but everything was unfocused and spinning. Why was she here? Her brain tried to fill in the gaps, but her state wouldn't let her. The door to the appartement building seemed far away now and was swinging around like a ship at the ocean during a raging storm. Every minute everything flailed around even more. Why did she come here? Her heart raced at high speed and she felt numb. She stumbled a little further. A mild sound came from behind her, but she couldn't understand it. She stumbled a bit and turned around. A shapeless body stood at the place where the door was, floating around. She tried to bundle her energy and focus on the screams she heard. She felt her energy draining away. "SEBLENY... PLEASE! COME HERE!" Why was that person yelling at her? She felt her weight shifting to one side and she turned around to balance again. But it was too late, she felt her body dragging her towards the floor. Only, there was no floor to be seen. At least not immediately. While she heard a scream from above her she plummeted into the depth. Everything went dark.

Slowly she regained consciousness. She appeared to be laying in a bed. Faint shadows moved above her, which she observed through her eyelashes.
"Call doctor Heimlin, she's..."
She opened her eyes. A brightness that hurt her greeted her. No sounds were to be heard however. "Hello?", she moaned. Nothing. Her body felt sore everywhere. She found herself lying in a green gown, usually found around hospital patients. She no longer laid in a comfortable bed. She lay on a cold tiled floor. She tried to raise herself. Though her body ached, she managed to get up. She looked around herself. From every direction a whiteness so brilliant it gave her a headache shone at her. It seemed to go on to infinity all around her. She felt the floor was made of pure white tiles almost invisibly placed one next to the other. She looked confused. "Where am I?" she thought.
"Hello? Is anybody there?" she yelled. The only thing she heard was the echoes of her voice returning to her.
How could this be? She distinctly remembered hearing things and seeing people before she woke up completely. Is this all just a dream?
"Hello!!", she yelled again. But nothing but her echoes returned to her.
She started walking around looking for an exit. Her feet made soft knocks on the floor which echoed through the entire space. But walking around was no use, for the space seemed to go on for an eternity. "Am I dead? She thought. To no avail she yelled once again if anybody was there.
In the distance another person appeared. Relieved she walked forth. She saw this other woman walking straight towards her. "Hello?" she yelled again. "Hello?" was the answer she got. She was puzzled but walked onwards. She came face to face to this other person.
She observed the woman standing before her. She was young, about 25 and had brown hair curling along side her shoulders. It didn't take long before she realised that woman was nothing else than a reflection of herself in a mirror. She pounded onto the mirror and started to cry. A pounding headache made her weary and a buzzing sound overcame all her desperation. She sank to the floor. In disbelief she looked up to her mirror image was still standing up, looking down upon her with a faint smile on her face.
"Who are you?" her reflection asked, in a soft voice.
The pounding and buzzing in her head stopped. "Who am I?", she asked. As she looked up once again, her reflection was gone.
She let her tears go. "Who am I?"

Sleeping with my bird out.

Posted by RubberTrucky Feb. 21, 2009 @ 11:05 AM EST

I've been having these naughty thoughts lately. This weekend I'm practically home alone and though it's been advised against I plan to go sleeping with my bird out. I'm not talking about sleeping in a crotchless pyjama (by god, does such an abomination even exists), but I plan to release my precious lovebird today and leaving it out until the morning comes. I wonder if it will be tamer by then. And then I can put it in it's case tomorrow by noon.

I wonder how people look upon a caged pet bird anyway. Some of my friends once said they felt sad for a flying creature to be taken away the right to fly loose. But pet birds, I think are often very comfortable staying in their own turf and being save from the dangers of the outside world. They are often bred specifically for that cause, at least I think they are okay with it somehow. Different is when it comes down to a bird that's been brutally caught in the free and forced into submission. This action kills numerous birds yearly, whereas birds can be actually bought from a breeder who takes care for the young ones.

Anyway, I don't know if I'll ever get into writing, since I suck at it horribly enough. Maybe I'll attempt 'Xenophobia' soon. I have images of creepy plot lines in my head, but I know I'll write it down and probably will humiliate myself.

Here's one very lucky lovebird!

White noise

Posted by RubberTrucky Feb. 8, 2009 @ 6:33 PM EST

I've seen the movie today. In the beginning it was all okay and kind of creepy. Later it turned out to be disappointing with the serial killer and all. Why do all these movies have to end with serial killers. It's so much creepier if actual ghosts finish of the rest.
Granted, ghosts finished off a lot, but they were disappointing too.
If I had the time and wasn't that lazy I'd improve the plot a lot.
Maybe one day I get on with writing "Xenophobia", a kind of ghost story I was thinking bout writing one day. Look out for it on this blog.

Anyhow, I think I'll try a new hobby.
It's delightfully evil :3

Epic of Akakios (2)

Posted by RubberTrucky Feb. 6, 2009 @ 2:46 PM EST

The men were led by the legendary General Maradyktis, who was fabled to have cut off the hand of the Cyclops Nekrothos, to serve as a wedding gift for the marriage of his sister with his close friend. He was a fearless and violent man. His raging ways were by many believed to be one of an illiterate barbarian out to brutalise and maim anything that is in reach of his swinging blade. This, however, was vastly untrue. He has been apprentices in the art of warfare by none other than the Centaur Kurios, son of the god Apollo with Nymestre and descended from the ancestrial tree of Ajax the great . Behind his madness he has learned to conceal master cunningness and behind each strike he hid an aim which was accurate and strategic. He trained his men equally in warfare and was therefore known for commanding an army that was one to bosom fear in anyone who dared to stay in it's ways. But as ardent a combatant and as fearless and headstrong a man he may be, he was loyal to his king Gangemedes of the kingdom of Streibe.
Streibe used to be a stronghold of purity and prosperity and was peaceful, relying mostly on agriculture. Gangemedes was a man of pride however. He boasted Streibe to have agricultural techniques that even improved the ones known to the goddess Demeter herself. As Demeter arrived one day to demand a sacrifice for all the harvest her lands has been giving, as she usually does anually to collect the fruits of her lands, Gangemedes told her he had no need for such offering and send her away. Demeter told him his kingdom would suffer for such insolence, but Gangemedes took the challenge and told her even without nature he could make the harvest twice as big the year after.
So a year went by, and as it is usual to happen to those who come between gods and humanity, Gangemedes lands turned dry and into a desert. Famine and thirst struck the country and Gangemedes saw his people die. Gangemedes saw the error of his ways and sent a priest to ask the goddess for forgiveness for his arrogance, that he was unworthy to claim the praise that came to the goddess. But the priest was intercepted and killed on the way and a message was sent that no amnesty would be given and the city of Streibe was to suffer untill no stray dog is left alive. Soon all kids were born with horrible mutilations resembling monsters and earthworms. Gangemedes saw his own sun getting ill and rotten away. So he grew angry and bitter, mocking the gods for not being able to help him. So one of the priests, known by the name of Deklaukos, told him the misery had to end. He told him no soft words, nor gifts would please the goddess. He said the only way to force a goddess to humility is by destroying her influence over the people. So Gangemedes summoned Maradyktis and told him to destroy any land that worships Demeter and so Maradyktis, ever loyal to his king and vengefull for all the suffering his home is in led an army of death and destruction over Hellas.

Stheno

Posted by RubberTrucky Jan. 25, 2009 @ 7:27 PM EST

Stheno lay lamenting upon the body of her decapitated sister. For even on the day she had just been born, she swore to protect her little sister. Even though Medousa brought the curse, which destroyed their eternal beauty, upon them, she forgave her for this. This was not only due to the fact that she knew how impressive a man like Poseidon could be (she knew even she was not completely untouched by the desire to be with that God), but also because of the oath she had sworn to her mother. Together with her sisters she committed to live through the punishment they had been suffered by the wrath of Athene, cause she hoped this way peace could be attained. But she never expected the goddess would betray them and eventually take her sister by the hand of a mere mortal. There she swore that that the murder of her sister would not go without retribution and she would be the one who will bring down Perseus, champion of Athene. For this she thought out a plan.
Ignoring Euryale's objections, she reasoned that Medousa had chosen her faith by defiling Athene's sanctuary and they were lucky to survive the wrath of the goddess, Stheno called upon Ares. Surely, Ares would be amused by the lust for blood and revenge she beared (his love for these sort of things made Ares notorious and feared by all who dared to oppose him) and he wouldn't pass up a chance to cross his sister, for she had humiliated him several times by defeating him in combat. Ares, as Stheno expected, didn't waste time on responding the call and appeared before the two sisters fully clad in armour. Ares was amused by the pledge of vengeance Stheno told him about. But Ares was also known for his perversity and deceitfulness. He told the sisters he could not do anything to anger his sister, for surely she would lock him into the depths of the Tartarus as she had even less compassion with a fellow god than with a creature like Medousa. However, he proposed, he could revert the sisters monstrous appearance to the beauty they once were. Of course Athene had no longer a score to settle with the Gorgons and wouldn't care for how they looked. In exchange he asked for a token of appreciation. they were both to sleep with him that night. with this, Euryale was eager to make this sacrifice, but Stheno had no intention to sleep with him, especially after she was disappointed in the cowardliness and reluctance the god showed to stand up to his sister. But she thought up a plan and agreed on the transaction.
Ares told them to close their eyes. As soon as they would reopen them, their beauty should have been reverted. The sisters did what they were told. And verily, the moment they opened their eyes, they stood naked, the way they were born. Ares was very pleased how the maiden, who were fabled for their beauty before the curse, stood there, their full gloring showing to Ares. Stheno noticed how Ares particularly took a favor towards Euryales young Eastorn look, almond skinn and blond frizzly hair. She told Ares that her sister had had more experience with men and he could begin with her. She would prepare for it and join in later. Ares made no objections and euryale lead him towards the bed. As soon as Euryale got Ares distracted, she took ares blade, which he left by the bed, and dipped it into the blood of Medousa. Knowing how skilled her sister was with men, she had no doubts, she could run off without anyone noticing untill she got out of reach.
Ares would find out later how Stheno deceived him and he would cry out for killing her for how she could have such pride to think she could deny a god's pleasure and get away scot-free. Euryale begged him to spare her sister, for he knew she was out to avenge Medousa and only after she promissed to be his lover, had he agreed on letting Stheno go. However, Euryale bore him a son later, name Chrystomachos. (the golden warrior) But Euryale didn't know Ares would avenge this betrayal later on.
Stheno went outside, after finding some clothes, and ventured towards Tiryns. (she had heard the tales about the king of Tiryns victory on the Gorgons) When she arrived at the palace, she hid the blade of Ares with the poisonous blood of Medousa, which would kill any man in excruciating pain, under her robe. It was well known Perseus took care of his queen Andromeda. But almost as known as this fact was the fact that Perseus liked to fool around with his servant maiden. Amongst them, they said, one was his favourite. Her name was Narriope, a daughter of a Thebian priest, who was condemned for bringing ill fate, after the execution of her father she was sold at a slave market.
Her beauty was known around Greece and men always commented on their wish to trade places with the king, much to the dismay of queen Andromache. Stheno also found out she had a striking resemblance to the maid. So she hid at the riverside until Narriope would come by to wash the royal linnen. Not as soon had the maiden bend over to pull the linen out of the water as Stheno jumped in sight and smashed her head on a rock and left her unconscious body to wash away and drown in the river after she took all her clothes and the linnen back to the palace. She took upon fulfilling all the requests of Perseus as far as a maiden ought to do them. Since kings never really cared for much personal facts about their concubines, Perseus didn't really notice Narriope was in fact Stheno and the body was washed away so noone really found out.
As the night came, Stheno snuck towards Perseus chamber. For sure, the palace guards would ask no question when they saw the king's concubine go towards his quarters. As she snuck into his room she got a grip on the sword she kept hidden under her gown. She raised it, pointing the sharp edge down towards the sleeping king's abdomen and she made ready to take his life. But as she saw the young king's face, helplessly sleeping she couldn't bring forth the strength to finish him. What really happened was that Ares told Aphrodite that Stheno had tried to seduce him and trick him into changing her and her sister to their old selves. His compassion made him do this act and he discovered they wanted to seduce him and bare his child. Of course he refused them and then Stheno stole his sword. Aphrodite, of course, knew it wasn't exactly the truth, yet she decided to not let such an act of trickery towards a god stay unpunished, so she send Eros to make Stheno fall in love with the one she hated the most. Stheno stared at Perseus puzzled how she could not bring herself to slay him for killing her sister. In the end, she lay down the sword and decided to flee the castle and leave the score settled.
Athena had been warned about the mission of Stheno to kill Perseus. She rushed towards Tiryn in the form of an owl and found Sthenoi leaving the room. She woke up Perseus and told him how Stheno took the form of his beloved Narriope to kill him. She told him Stheno was no longer immortal, for Ares had traded the immortality for beauty, and she told him how she was getting away with such a crime. Perseus enraged woke up and picked upon the sword. Stheno, surprised by the rumble, turned around and Perseus impaled her in between her breasts. Stheno stared stunned and with her last breath she let out an enraged holler, shouting her sister's name. Then she collapsed lifelessly on the ground. Guards came rushing in and Perseus commanded them to burn her corpse with the rest of the room, for no Gorgon blood would defile his home. A mighty fire roared in the castle and together with the ashes of the deceased gorgon, the fute between the Gorgons and Athena dissolved.

Story made for mythology crew.
